Shipping Policy

Shipping Policy and costs - Surfskis and kayaks

There are three surfski and kayak delivery options available to customers of Epic Kayaks Europe (‘Epic’), as follows:

1/ pick up - no charge. Pick up is available during working hours at our warehouse based in Erd, Hungary. By appointment only but, if you choose to pick up, we will gladly welcome you to our warehouse and set up your new surfski! It will be nice to meet you and welcome you to Team Epic.

2/ freight to within 1,000km of our warehouse - if you are located to within 1,000 kms of our warehouse, we offer fixed delivery of €200. The basis of this delivery service is as follows:

A/ the customer accepts that the freight to their door under this delivery option is subject to delivery runs at the discretion of Epic. Upon receiving the order, Epic will communicate with our valued customer and work on the fastest and most efficient way to get the surfski or kayak to you. This is usually through two professional transporters within Europe that are contracted to Epic.

B/ Please allow up to 12 weeks for delivery (during the months March - September). Off season transport may take longer between the months of October - February.

C/ Transport will always be scheduled following the arrival of containers, and hence waiting times shall be greatly reduced during the season.

D/ Transport may also be offered through kayak federations and other professional carriers on an ad hoc basis. In all cases, Epic will try to expedite any/all waiting times for our customers.

E/ Please note: if a cost effective transport solution is not available, Epic reserves the right to offer the customer:

i/ another delivery option (Epic shall incur the first €300 of any transport to a customer, however, we reserve the right to charge additional amounts if fees exceed this amount). The customer understands that this may occur and a refund can only be provided if there is no alternative delivery option available to Epic/the customer

ii/ a refund is the last resort and will be avoided wherever possible. 

3/ freight outside of 1,000km of our warehouse (by road) - should you be located > 1,000 km from Erd Hungary, please accept the ‘quote me transport’ option upon purchase. By clicking this link, the customer understands:

A/ Payment shall go through for the surfski or kayak

B/ Epic shall then seek quotes for transport to the customer’s specific address

C/ the customer understands that Epic may seek multiple quotes and present the most effective options to the customer, for their choosing, which will be separately invoiced by Epic to the customer (once a suitable solution is found)

D/ the customer acknowledges that the cost may be in the range of anywhere from €250-600, and accepts that, whilst all savings will be searched for, a quote of this range may be likely pending available transport. 

E/ no refunds will be given by Epic unless transport exceeds €1,000, i.e. we shall provide the option to cancel the transaction if a delivery option cannot be achieved within 12 weeks of ordering or exceeds €1,000.

Delivery of surfskis and kayaks shall be included and transported by preferred logistics suppliers, which may affect delivery lead times.

By purchasing online, the customer understands the three shipping options and the potential costs involved depending on your location (and intended transport routes around the time of the order). At all times, Epic will work for you, our valued customer, to make the delivery options as seamless as possible for you.

Upon purchase, Epic shall contact the customer and ensure suitable arrangements are made for the delivery of their chosen craft to ensure a timely and safe delivery of the surfski / kayak. Customers are asked to review their new surfski / kayak upon delivery to ensure it has been delivered in a suitable condition. Please refer to our warranty policy for further guidance. 

Paddles

All single paddles shall be shipped to EU countries for a fixed price of €30. Postage to be confirmed upon check-out based on a valid address within the EU. Please note:

1/ Paddles are charged as a stand alone item regardless of the order (as they may be dispatched from a different warehouse to our accessories and/or our surfskis or kayaks)

2/ Paddles may take up to 10-15 business days to reach the customer. This is understood as reasonable by the customer when placing the order.

3/ any returns may be accepted based on EU consumer law, but must be appropriately re-packaged and sent to our stated address (provided by Epic to the customer) in Hungary. The customer acknowledges that, in order to return a paddle, it must be unused and contact with Epic must be made BEFORE any return shall be accepted. 

4/ Returns will only be credited if the paddle (when it is returned unused) and is checked by Epic. Any use / loss of value under the customer’s care may lead to an adjustment to the refund.

5/ No other discounts or promotion codes may be used when capped delivery is extended to the customer. 

6/ All postage for returns by the customer is incurred at the customer's cost. Agreed refunds include the price of the good returned but excludes any shipping costs incurred by Epic and/or the customer. 

Accessories & spare parts

Standard shipping for accessories & spare parts:
0-500 grams - €20
501 grams to 1kg - €30
>1kg - €40.
Postage to be confirmed at check-out. 
Customers will be informed of the final delivery charge prior to placing the order at check-out. Please note: 

1/ Postage for accessories & spare parts is different to postage and shipping charged for paddles and surfskis/kayaks respectively (as they may be dispatched from a different warehouse to our paddles and/or our surf skis)

2/ Accessories and spare parts may take up to 15-20 business days to reach the customer (based on standard postage). This is understood as reasonable by the customer when placing the order. No refunds will be accepted based on this expected time frame

3/ If the customer prefers express shipping, please contact Epic for options. 

4/ any returns may be accepted based on EU consumer law, but must be appropriately re-packaged and sent to our stated address (provided by Epic to the customer) in Hungary. The customer acknowledges that, in order to return accessories and spare parts, it must be unused and contact with Epic must be made BEFORE any return shall be accepted. 

5/ Returns will only be credited if the accessory(ies) when it is returned unused and checked by Epic. Any use / loss of value under the customer’s care may lead to an adjustment to the refund, 

6/ No other discounts or promotion codes may be used when capped delivery is extended to the customer.

7/ All postage for returns by the customer is incurred at the customer's cost. Agreed refunds include the price of the good returned but excludes any shipping costs incurred by Epic and/or the customer. 

Further notes

For any online purchases of paddles and/or accessories, Epic Kayaks Europe (‘Epic’) shall use best endeavours to deliver on a timely basis to our customers. Shipping costs are calculated and are included in your total cost as at the time of purchase. Please allow up to 15-20 business days for fulfilment and postage delivery services, depending on your location within Europe. Epic engages various shipping and postal providers for shipping of goods throughout Europe.

Epic Kayaks Europe is the authorised distributor of Epic Kayaks products in Europe. Shipping to countries is at the discretion of Epic but we will always attempt to ship to any country within the EU that can fit within the above shipping guidelines (i.e. feasible postage / trasnsport costs).
